Why I Hated Blogging
January 7th, 2004 • General
When I first read about blogging I thought it must pretty useless, all those half-baked thoughts, personal life, i-love-my-pet posts were driving me nuts. I never could figure out why blogging is so important.
Well, I came along a few nice blogs, I started reading them daily, things like mezzoblue, ongoing, PHP Everywhere, PHP Patterns, A List Apart, meyerweb.com, Dive Into Mark, evolt.org and may many others really convinced me that blogging is really about socializing rather than anything else, it’s not just posting about persoanl life and other things that people wouldn’t care about, it’s really posting about personal life, but with a twist!
Blogging can be harmful, it can start flame-wars, it can arouse hatred, but it can also be very benefitial, try Boxes and Arrows for instance.
But still, most of what I’m seeing now contains a lot of useful information, from designing and software development to science and nano-technology, to music, art and literature.
Well, I decided to start my own blog, not that I’m really good at writing, or I just want to go with the flow. I thought I could always post whatever half-baked ideas occurred to me, projects I’m working on, or at least my personal opinions on what’s happening in the world.
