Comment SPAM Already?!
April 11th, 2004 • 1 comment General
For a relatively new site, I feel flattered to have comment spam already, I just didn’t realize how big a problem could this kind of spam be. And no, I don’t keep these comments, but so far I’ve recieved around a dozen.
You see, this site hasn’t been running for long, it wasn’t even submitted to search engines, except for some RSS search engines like Feedster, and to have “penis enlargement” and “viagra” comments isn’t really a big problem for me, at least not just yet. But I sympathize with all the bloggers out there who have to manage a huge amount of bullshit comments by those who are either trying to boost their Google rank, or just spamming your site.
Hopefully, installing a bayesian filter will solve it in the near future.
XFN, the FOAF alternative

For anyone who truly believes the Web isn’t just a huge library of information, but also a social network, XFN is the thing for you.
Now FOAF is good, actually, anything that works is good. But personally I tend to move away from complexity whenever I can, and XFN gives me just that.
