The Web 2.0 Way
October 27th, 2005 • General
I just read the the Web 2.0 compact definition, and for some reason I feel that this Web 2.0 thing isn’t all that new.
OK, so it’s about connecting, and sharing, and tagging, and a whole lot of other things. It’s built on separate services like Flickr, del.icio.us and Ajax. I don’t know about you, but to me it seems a lot like The UNIX Way; a collective power of individual pieces of software where each does one thing and thing only, but it does a great job at it.
Company Coolness
October 9th, 2005 • Rants
When a company as cool as Google releases something as sucky as the Google Reader, everybody tries so damn hard to find a thousand excuses for why they messed up (or just praise the GLord).
And when a company as cool as Apple releases something as sucky as the iPod Nano, everybody grumps and complains and sues their ass, but they still find a thousand excuses for why they messed up (or just praise the iLord).
But when a company as sucky as Microsoft releases something as cool as WinFS, Aero and .NET, everybody rants about what a rip off it is, how stupid, evil and brain-damaged it is. Kill Microsoft!
FreeBSD Has Gone Pro

Oh my God, this site looks way more professional than the previous look. FreeBSD, one of my old time favorites, has just gone pro.
Congratulations guys on the new design, hope you keep up the good work.
House of Wax

I just watched House of Wax and it’s, well to put it quite frankly, stupid! I have no idea how people can stand watching movies like this. Aside from having the two hot Paris and Elisha, there was nothing, I mean absolutely nothing good about this movie.
The characters basically have three abilities, scream, run like hell, act with an attitude. Paris and Robert had absolutely no role whatsoever, well except for the we’re-going-to-make-out-baby scene. Brian can fight like a champ after bravely receiving two arrow in his arm and chest. People from waxy town Ambrose are were mysteriously turned into wax figures, I can’t even think of how it ended up this way:
Waxo Smith: Hey, did you know that Wixen was found dead sitting in the church?
Waxa Green: No way Waxo, that can’t be true, I was with Wixen yesterday.
Waxo: Oh yeah, and you were doing what exactly?
Waxa: Non of your business you freak!
Waxo: You turned him into wax… bitch.
Waxa: Na’ah.
Waxo: This town is getting weird.
Waxa: Na’ah
Few days later…
Waxo: Hey, you heard about Weaxer?
Waxa: What’s up with him?
Waxo: He was found waxed to death in that restaurant.
Waxa: Nooo, I was just with him yesterday.
Waxo: Bitch.
Apply, rinse, repeat.
Trust me on this, if you like horror movies you should go for something that at least has some sense of a story.
Linkwhoring!

I beg you, I kneel before your host, by the names of the almighty PHP’ers, the W3C gods, and by the name of all web developers, please, please, please, don’t run links like this all over a blog post, especially not without a title.
The blog post, the page, and the page itself are all one and the same. I assure you, you only have to direct me once to any post and I’ll click, I swear to God I’ll pay a visit, just don’t keep repeating it over and over and over again. My eyes got sore from going back forth between the status bar and the post itself just so I don’t go to the same page twice. It’s not going to help anybody’s PageRank, you just have to trust me on this.
I really like you, so please don’t let me drop PHPDeveloper.org from my aggregator.
