I don’t know exactly who gets to see this and who doesn’t, but in U.A.E. it seems that this is the regular Google design:
There’s a slim sidebar on the right, and the ads still have the same placement. It looks a little cleaner, a little more traditional.
But Google acts stupid in Emirates, it says my requests look like an automated virus or spyware requests. To give them credit, they do say they’re sorry, but then they ask me to fill in a CAPTCHA, what good is their sorry for, huh? I can understand that Emirates might have a lot of unsolicited bandwidth swarming to Google, but this is unacceptable, I had to tunnel to a server in Canada and trick Google. Even Google think it’s “nonesse”!
