I have to apologize. Deeply. With all my heart. There was something wrong with the comments form, I only noticed it when I was installing the subscription plugin and trying to fit into my theme. The comment form looked hideous, but only when there was no comments. It seems that my ego has neglected the one case where people just read a post and carry one. Fixed now, so please accept my apologies.
